This is a satirical take on modern leadership, where buzzwords outshine outcomes, diversity becomes theater, and AI solves everything except actual problems.
If it feels uncomfortably accurate, that’s kind of the point.
From the Desk of the CEO
Subject: Leading in the Age of AI, Cloud, Diversity, Empathy, Climate Concern, and Vibes™
Dear Team,
As we continue our cloud-first, AI-augmented, domain-aware, inclusivity-framed, empathy-infused, climate-sensitive transformation journey (™), I wanted to share a few bold leadership insights with all of you.
Leadership in 2025 isn’t about solving problems. It’s about narratives. It’s about being seen at the right panels, name-dropping the right frameworks, and building a culture so innovative we don’t need to measure output—just engagement.
So here’s my (completely serious and HR-approved) guide to world-class leadership in our modern organization:
Vision: Say Something Grand, Mean Absolutely Nothing “Be bold. Think 10x. Build the future.” Our vision is aspirational, inspirational, and intentionally incomprehensible. We use words like “ecosystem,” “flywheel,” and “synergy” until everyone forgets what we actually do.
Bonus: Always use the phrase “north star” even if we’re spinning in circles.
Strategy & Innovation: The Theatre of the Absurd “We need to think big.” “Let’s disrupt ourselves.” Everyone nods, no one moves. That’s strategy.
Host a design thinking workshop. Hire a Big Four firm to write what your team said back to you in a $300K deck. Call it transformation.
Pro tip: If you’re out of ideas, just suggest “platform thinking” or “AI-led digitization.” It sounds futuristic, and no one can argue.
AI-Washing: The New Digital Transformation We believe in AI-first, cloud-native, domain-aware, synergy-centric excellence.
No one knows what that means, but we say it. Loudly. Repeatedly.
We’ll launch a “Responsible AI” council (without data scientists).
We’ll add AI to slide decks (and job titles).
We’ll ask vendors, “Can we sprinkle some AI on this?” like it’s parmesan.
It’s not about solving problems. It’s about sounding like we are.
Remember: if the model doesn’t work, just say it’s due to data quality.
Always Move to the Cloud, Even If You Don’t Know What’s There
If it’s not in the cloud, does it even exist?
Re-platform everything. Re-architect nothing.
When someone asks “why?”, say:
“It’s our journey toward digital resiliency.”
That’ll shut them down and impress the auditors.
Sprinkle AI/Gen-AI On Everything
No roadmap is complete without at least one initiative labeled:
“AI-enabled cognitive automation for next-gen workflows.”
Whether it does anything? Irrelevant.
Bonus points if you confuse “model accuracy” with “business impact.”
Say “Domain Context” Repeatedly. Believe It Occasionally.
Just keep repeating:
“We must embed domain intelligence into our cloud-AI stack.”
Does it mean anything? Not really.
But it feels like leadership.
Always talk about migrating to the cloud, even if you don’t know from what.
Say “AI will reinvent everything,” but ensure your roadmap still runs on PowerPoint and panic.
Remind everyone you’re “domain-driven.” It sounds serious, and no one will ask for proof.
Diversity (and the Art of Promoting Where They Can’t Break Anything)
We believe deeply in equity, inclusion, and all the right hashtags.
Especially when it comes to elevating individuals from underrepresented groups—into roles where the stakes are low, the impact is contained, and the real decisions happen elsewhere.
We’ll host a “Voices of Inclusion” panel. Again.
We’ll post about “celebrating emerging leaders.” Again.
But when it’s time for promotions? We reward the most professionally agreeable spreadsheet sorcerers—those who keep the waters calm and the right people cc’ed.
Challenge direction? That’s a “governance concern.”
Comply with grace? That’s a “culture win.”
Budget Constraints: The One-Size-Fits-All Leadership Strategy
Whatever the question, the answer is “budget constraints.”
Want a raise? Budget constraints.
Need a better laptop? Budget constraints.
Trying to hire instead of burning out your team? Budget. Constraints.
But we still have a budget for:
- Leadership offsites in exotic locales,
- 100+ consultants to define “synergy,” and
- A gamified learning portal no one logs into.
Pro tip: Say, “Let’s be scrappy—it builds character.”
Translation: You’re on your own, but with vibes.
Budget isn’t just a number—it’s a belief system.
Empathy: The Performance Art of Modern Leadership
Always open with:
“This must be really hard for you.”
Then follow up with:
“How can you show more resilience?”
Congratulations—you’ve done empathy and delegation in one breath.
Cancel 80% of your 1:1s (with the subject line “Let’s connect async”), but never forget to say “My door is always open.” That’s modern accessibility.
Real leaders show feelings, especially when denying PTO or promoting burnout as a growth opportunity.
Leadership Offsites: Where Strategy Goes to Sunbathe The more unclear our goals, the more exotic the location. This year’s planning session? Brazil. Or maybe Monaco. Because nothing says “operational excellence” like brainstorming under palm trees.
Nothing builds cohesion like flying 500 VPs to an exotic place to align on “The Future of Forward.”
This year’s offsite theme:
“Context. Courage. Cocktails: Leading With Latitude”
Breakout sessions include:
- “KPIs and Mindfulness: Reconciliation as a Service”
- “The Silent Power of Nodding at Every Slide”
- “Designing Strategy Using Google Images”
Culture gets built at poolside buffets. Always has.
Gartner Says It. So Should You.
Real transformation is defined by what appears in the latest Magic Quadrant.
Say things like:
“We’re aligning with Gartner’s vision of the composable future.”
Even if you don’t know what it means. Especially then.
Post from conferences. Post booth selfies. Say “we’re on a learning journey.”
Internal Certifications: Because Growth Must Be Quantified
Create 8-hour courses no one needs.
Call them things like:
- “Empathetic AI Leadership, Level 2”
- “Cloud Ethics for Non-Tech Stakeholders”
- “Inclusive OKR Writing: From Intention to Impact”
Badges = promotion. Badges = belonging. Badges = noise.
Build a Yearly Plan Using AI, Then Ignore It Like a Human
Use ChatGPT to create the plan. Add emojis.
Q2? Pivot.
Q3? Blame macroeconomics.
Q4? Rebrand chaos as agility.
Budgets are fiction. PowerPoints are truth.
Punish the Curious. Promote the Compliant.
Innovation is welcome, as long as it fits last year’s roadmap.
Asking hard questions? That’s friction.
Meeting your OKRs without asking why? That’s leadership.
Thoughtless POVs = Influential Thought Leadership
Start bold. Stay vague.
“The future of AI is human.”
“We don’t need more data—we need better synergy.”
Add stock photo. Slide 17. Done.
We Care About the Planet, Just Not Enough to Let You Stay Home
We’re committed to going net zero by 2035.
We even launched “GreenVision360+”.
We’ve got a new logo. A forest font. And a landing page.
But we also need you in the office five days a week, sitting in 4-hour traffic—alone, in your fuel-burning vehicle.
Because nothing says sustainability like 100,000 employees commuting to attend Zoom calls from different floors.
“Climate impact begins with visible productivity.”
No Increments, Just Inspirational Posters
Tough times. Macro headwinds. Inflation.
But here’s a poster that says “Own Your Career.”
Here’s a Slack channel called #ThriveNow.
Here’s a mentor who hasn’t had a promotion in 6 years either.
We’re in this together (but not in the comp review).
TL;DR Slide (for Executives Who Only Read the Headlines)
“Modern Leadership in the Age of AI, Cloud, Empathy, and Certifiable Nonsense”
Let’s face it: leadership today isn’t about building, challenging, or innovating.
It’s about narratives. Optics. And a strong POV delivered via an 18-slide deck no one reads.
Here’s what I’ve learned on my journey from “Doer” to “Chief Alignment Storyteller”:
Cloud-first, common sense last.
Sprinkle AI on everything.
Say “domain context” a lot.
Celebrate diversity (as long as it’s performative).
Lead with empathy (especially during layoffs).
Gartner > delivery.
Certify everything.
Punish curiosity. Reward compliance.
Save the planet. But drive to the office.
No raises. Just vibes.
Because in the end, it’s not about doing.
It’s about presenting what could have been done, in a bold, gradient PowerPoint.
We are not just a company.
We are a domain-driven, cloud-native, AI-forward, empathy-badged, diversity-decked, net-zero-posting, certification-saturated organization of the future.
Let’s go out there and lead.
Let’s scale. Let’s synergize.
Let’s… quietly remove any dissent from the roadmap.
Warm regards,

Note from the author:
It’s a loving roast of the many managers and leaders I’ve had the privilege of surviving—those who generously bestowed upon me the PowerPoints no one read, the buzzwords no one understood, and the frameworks that frameworked nothing.
A tribute to colleagues who gamed the org chart like pros—spouting jargon with the confidence of prophets, sending decks at 11:59 p.m. to signal “grit,” and building careers on the sacred altar of alignment.
And to my friends who sit through this circus with a straight face—this one’s for you. You’ve earned a wine subscription, a nap, and the legal right to chuckle during silent workshops.
Thank you all for the jargon, the optics, and the endless inspiration.
Without you, this wouldn’t be a satire—it’d just be a mid-year review.
