Evening Walks

I have this ritual where I walk with my son everyday in evening and it is a time for him to ask any questions or just have a conversation. It is also a way for him to stay active and fit. During the last walk he did ask me few questions which led to the question of “Why do you write, papa ? “ It led me to think about it as why I do it and also why I think it is really important that we do write sooner than later.

  • It makes me think. If you want to write, you need to think. If you want to think you need to read.
  • It provides clarity. Most often when we talk , we tend to wander off topic and jump from one topic to another. Writing makes you focus on the core topic and helps to think clearly.
  • It makes me less stupid. Lately I realize that being less stupid is super power. Most people around you are just plain stupid. I just try to be , little less stupid.
  • It helps me connect the dots. As I write on a topic various themes run through my mind and it helps connect completely different areas in a way which I would never thought before until I started writing
  • It helps me focus. Most of my posts are triggered from conversations, posts or books and if you are not focused, one would miss the themes which later become posts in future.
